All that said...
Though it would take quite a lot of time, and again, would just be an exercise in self-indulgent nostalgia, it would be an interesting project to recreate a whole or part of an IRL trip entirely online.
For instance, I crossed from Turkey into Bulgaria back in 1998 or so. Follow my journal’s notes and route maps from the moment I crossed the border. Look at the Street Views for the roads...

This was the exact opinion a friend voiced to me as he caught me twittering while at a social gathering last year.

Zucchini Recipe
New really good recipe for zucchini, as long as it’s young and tender:
Slice raw zucchini thin, 1/16” (2-3 mm). Mix with lemon juice, olive oil, Parmesan cheese, ground almonds, and a bit of salt.

Movies Watched
Devil (2010)- Saw this at the drive-in with Rocky and her brother and his girlfriend. Kinda cold (we sat outside rather than staying in the car), but it was really fun. A lot less crowded this late in the season. Movie was okay. A lot of dark. Two stars.

Mexicana, Heal Thyself!
It looks like Mexicana airlines is still having bankruptcy troubles.
I hope they make it out if it. Mexicana is a fantastic airline. We’ve never had any troubles on it, they give you for-real meals (like in the old days of flying), and drinks—even booze—are free. Plus, you know, they go to Mexico.

Globe Genie →
Globe Genie is awesome. It will take you to a random Google Earth Street View pretty much anywhere in the world. You can pick which continents you’d like to randomly view. Then hit “shuffle” and go somewhere different!

Vacation plans for a year from now...
Fly into Cancun, immediately go to Isla Mujeres for a few days. Find some cute hotel in town and just relax; eat seafood, walk around town.
Then down the coast to Xel-ha and Tulum. See Tulum, Coba. Relax a day or two in Valladolid.
To Merida, where we stay a couple days more, renting a car and seeing more of the ruins and colonial towns on that side of the peninsula. Maybe try to see some pretty...
