So this one time, I’m walking across the desert in Egypt (I was headed to some tombs or something a couple miles out of town, and decided to walk rather than pay for a taxi). So rather than follow the winding road, I bee-line it straight across the desert, and I found a whole hillside of these sand roses. It was just one small hillside that had them, but they were everywhere! I filled my pockets with the nicest ones, and then got tons more on my way back from the tombs that I was visiting. Really cool.
